Pedestal Supra, based on the active ingredient novaluron, is a novel insecticide belongs to the benzoylphenylurea group.
Pedestal Supra active against larvae of insects of the orders lepidoptera, coleopteran, homoptera and diptera. It acts by inhibiting chitin formation during moulting.
Pedestal Supra acts mainly by ingestion, but has shown some contact activity. It does not have ovicidal activity, but a high percentage of mortality of first instar hatching from eggs laid on sprayed foliage occurs. It also suppresses fecundity.
The product was found safe to major beneficial insects and may be used as a component in integrated pest management (IPM).
In India, it was found to be the best product for spodoptera control in many crops.
Pedestal Supra is available in the pack sizes of 50ml, 100ml, 250ml, 500ml and 1ltr
It is composed of Novaluron 8.8% SC.
It is mainly used in crops like Cotton, Chilli, Chickpea, Groundnut and Tea.
It can control major pests like Caterpillars, Bollworms, Spodoptera litura etc.
