The botanical name of Aloe vera is Aloe barbadensis miller.
It belongs to Asphodelaceae (Liliaceae) family, and is a shrubby or arborescent, perennial, xerophytic, succulent, pea- green color plant.
Aloe vera is a herb with succulent leaves that are arranged in a rosette. The leaves are grey to green and sometimes have white spots on their surfaces. They have sharp, pinkish spines along their edges and are the source of the colourless gel found in many commercial and medicinal products. Aloe vera has yellow, tube-like flowers that cluster on a stem.
Aloe species are mostly inhabitants of arid climates, and are widely distributed in Africa, India, and other arid areas.
This plant is the best bet for attracting positive energy and a truck full of health benefits. They help in absorbing large quantities of carbon dioxide and emitting equal amounts of oxygen, thus purifying the air and giving you a fresh nontoxic environment yo breathe. They have rich properties of curing burns, inflammation, skin irritation and even curing digestive problems and constipation. They also serve as a source for a refreshing drink or as a face pack. Research backs up the ancient use of topical aloe vera as a skin treatment, at least for specific conditions. Studies have shown that aloe gel might be effective in treating skin conditions including:

Aloe vera gel taken orally (by mouth) seems to help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. It may also help to lower cholesterol. The results of aloe vera studies for other medical conditions have been less clear.
